Few of us live in the perfect climate so owning a greenhouse is great to those who love their growing plants and vegetables. Using a greenhouse enables you to gives you a controlable micro climate to grow your plants and vegetables.

There are a lot of vegetables and flowers that can grow in a greenhouse when they would not survive outdoors due to weather and climate conditions. As a responsible greenhouse owner everything you grow in it will be entirely under your care and if you neglect to water them they will die.

The benefits of a greenhouse is there are no variables as you are in total control of temperature and humidity and the plants live or die by your decisions. The pleasure from greenhouse gardening is the responsibility that the plants are dependent on you and if things go well or go badly you must accept the praise or the blame.

When you own a greenhouse there are many flowers and vegetables you can grow and you can started them from seeds and grow them to maturity and nobody else can take any credit for your success. There are several different types of greenhouse but any greenhouse is better than none if your local weather conditions are not good for the plants you want to grow.

A quality greenhouse will last for many years and enable you to get real value for money from the investment though there are cheaper alternatives which may not last so long. The geodesic dome shape greenhouse is my top favorite design partly because they look so stylish but also because they allow a lot of light into the greenhouse while giving you more groundspace to grow plants.

The type of greenhouse we are most familiar with everybody is familiar with is a recangular box shape with a door at one end and could be glass down to the ground or have a small wall at the base. Rectangular greenhouses are usually aligned to get the most light and warmth from the sun but this is an area where local climate conditions are important.

In general you want maximum light to enter your greenhouse but too much strong sun can damage plants so you should get local advice on greenhouse positioning in your area. Glass is not always used for greenhouses and the development of clear plastic materials offers some choices that may not be subject to breakage and wind damage.

The old fashioned ways of building glass greenhouses has been around for years and they last a long time but we do not all need a greenhouse to last forever and plastic panels are usually cheaper and these alternative greenhouses help us to get started with greenhouse plant growing.
